Obituary of JOAN MARCELLA WILLEY
JOAN MARCELLA WILLEY
Peacefully, in the early hours of the morning on April 11, our mother Joan Marcella Willey passed away. She was surrounded by the love of her family and in the presence of her children.
She was predeceased by her parents, Marcelina and John Kasiurak and her infant brother Edwin. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters Laverne and Georgina and by her brother-in-law Marvin.
She is survived by her children: Karen (Gary), Daryl, Sandra, Alan (Cathy), Glen (Karen) and Cheryl; her grandchildren Brianna (Kevin), Kelly, Josh (Lauren), Kyle (Tiffany), Rylan, Brenden (Kylie), Neale (Stephanie), Connor (Courtney), Kristjan, Jared (Madison), Kara (Nathan), Cuinn (Monique) and Lauren; her great-grandchildren Kait (Willow), Alyssa, Adriano, Olivia, Hailey, Hendrix and Jase.
Joan was born in Brandon, Manitoba on November 12, 1934. It was there that she met and married her former husband. Though they later parted ways, together they created a loving family of six children. They eventually moved to Winnipeg and settled in Transcona to raise their family.
Joan had a deep love for her family and they were always at the center of her life. She attended every school concert and every sporting event for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She found joy in music, dance and sewing — her handmade pieces full of love and care. She loved to walk and cycle and enjoyed watching and feeding the ducks at our local parks. In her later years and up until the time of his passing, she spent many cherished moments dancing and sharing her love with her devoted companion, Paul.
As our mother, nana, great-nana and sister, she was the thread that wove our family together.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at Middlechurch Home, where our mother spent her final years. Their care and kindness meant so much to her and to our family.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 17th at 2:30 pm. at the Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street.
Private interment at a later date.
