JOÃO GABRIEL PACHECO

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of João Gabriel Pacheco. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and cherished friend, who passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025 at the age of 85.

João Gabriel was born in São Miguel, Azores. He served his country and fought in the war in Angola before immigrating to Canada.

He worked for many years in construction and retired from Ancast Industries.

Joǎo Gabriel was a man of quiet strength, deep integrity and unwavering love for his family.  He was the beloved husband of Luisa, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage filled with love and partnership. Together, they built a life rooted in kindness and care.

As a father, João Gabriel was steady, supportive and always present.  He raised his children Louisa (Jose Miguel), Nelia (Tony), Isabel (Mike), John (Danis) with patience and wisdom, teaching them the value of hard work, honesty and humility.

To his grandchildren, Madeleine, Thomas, Miguel, Emily, Daniel, James and Sofiane, he was a source of comfort, gentle guidance and endless warmth.

João Gabriel will be remembered for his calm demeanor, his thoughtful nature and the quiet way he showed love through actions more than words.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit lives on in the lives he touched.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Church, 181 Austin Street North.
