Obituary of KATHERINE ANNIE MACLEOD
Katherine Annie MacLeod (Kay, Kathy, Catriona) was born on March 8, 1928, and passed away on January 4, 2026 at the age of 97.
Katherine lived in Winnipeg and had attended Principal Sparling School, Winnipeg Centennial and West Kildonan Schools, Dominion College and Red River Community College. Occupations included office secretarial work at Air Canada, Government of Canada Communications and the City of Winnipeg Planning Dept. Throughout her career she served on various committees, and had also served in various capacities at her church, Kildonan Community (Presbyterian), where she was a longtime faithful member.
She enjoyed travel in Scotland, England, continental Europe, the Caribbean, USA and Canada while visiting relatives and friends, or just enjoying the scenery.
Katherine was very proud of her Scottish Highland heritage, conversed in the Gaelic language and was a member of the Clan MacLeod Society.
Predeceased by father Angus MacLeod in 1939, mother Christina MacLeod in 1972, and cousin Matthew Cartwright in 2006.
Survived by special cousins in Scotland, England and the USA, and many friends including Darlene & Ron who will cherish her memory always.
Celebration of Life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel (1442 Main St) on Monday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing prior to service. Officiated by the Reverend Kevin MacDonald, with refreshments to follow then internment at the Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery.
Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, a donation may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
