Obituary of RENEE LEAH RICHARD
Renee Richard
April 29, 1974 – February 4, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Renee Richard, who left this world on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, with her family by her side.
Renee lived life deeply and gave generously. Despite facing many health challenges throughout her life, she chose to live in the moment, finding joy in connection, laughter, and togetherness. Nothing brought her more happiness than sharing a good story over a cold glass of iced Pepsi, an evening card game filled with friendly competition, or preparing a warm meal for those she loved. Her home — and her heart — were always open.
Renee was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her sons Keith, Curtis and Codi Richard; her stepsons Jake and Salim Wheeler and her cherished grandchild, Kelsey. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters Charmaine (Nicky) and Kimberly (Darryl); her brother Preston, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, uncles and friends whose lives she touched.
Renee was predeceased by her beloved partner Richard Wheeler and her mother Kathleen Richard.
Renee’s strength, humour and generosity will be remembered always. Her legacy lives on in the stories shared, the meals remembered, and the love she gave so freely.
With deep appreciation, the family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre, particularly the Dialysis Unit, for their kindness, patience and compassionate care.

To Those I Love
And Those Who Love Me
When I am gone, release me, let me go
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it’s time I traveled on alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must.
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It’s only for a while that we must part.
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won’t be far away. For life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can’t see or touch me, I’ll be near.
And if you listen with your heart, You’ll hear
All of my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I’ll greet you with a smile and a
“WELCOME HOME.”
