Obituary of RUDOLPH (RUDY) ROY MIKOLUFF

Rudolph (Rudy) Mikoluff

May 1, 1931 — February 23, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rudy Mikoluff at the age of 94 years.

Rudy was born and raised in Lowland Manitoba and was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Carrie and his four brothers John, Walter, Bernest, Norman and his infant son Rodney.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of over 70 years, Bernice (Mazur) and their children Ken (Rose), Cindy (Don) and Mark (Tanya).

He will be sadly missed by grandchildren Scott (Amber), Brett (Falyn), Marilyn (Markus), Alan, Chelsea (Marc), Holden (Brittney), Cydney, and great grandchildren, Annika, Jax, Nolan, Liam, Nora, Celyn, Sutton, Lochlan and McKinley.

He will also be missed by a community of family, in-laws, friends and neighbours who remember him fondly.

His kindness and generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rudy’s greatest pride was his family who he treasured spending time with.

Rudy was a quiet man who listened more than he spoke. He was not one for grand speeches, but his actions spoke volumes and he found happiness in life’s simple pleasures.

Rudy was employed at Cowin Steel Co. Ltd. for his entire career, retiring in 1992 after 40 years of service. After retirement he became an avid walker particularly enjoying long walks through the neighbourhood.

He enjoyed reading the newspaper, going out to lunch, attending trips to casinos, working in the yard, tinkering in the garage and watching his grandchildren in their endeavours.

After selling the house they had lived in for 66 years, Rudy and Bernice moved to River Ridge retirement residence in 2021, where Bernice resides today.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff and homecare team at River Ridge II, allowing Rudy to remain in his home during his four-year stay. Your care, comfort, and companionship is greatly appreciated.

The kindness Rudy received at St. Boniface and Seven Oaks hospitals helped us all in the final days of his life. Thank you for your exceptional and compassionate care.

We find comfort in knowing that Rudy’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

As per Rudy’s request, take some time today to do a good deed, pay something forward or help an elderly person

Rudy’s kindness, generosity and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
