MARIA DEOLINDA SILVEIRA ALMEIDA

With deep sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Maria Deolinda Silveira Almeida on Friday, March 27, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria leaves behind her beloved daughter Maria Almeida and was predeceased by her two sons, Manuel Almeida and Antonio Almeida She was a proud grandmother to seven grandchildren Roxanne, Lisa, Michael, Jesse, Carlos, Charla, Denim and a cherished great-grandmother to 13 great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love and care.

Maria was born May 3^rd, 1936, in São Jorge, Azores, Portugal. In 1965, she immigrated to Canada with her husband, Antonia Almeida and their children, where she built a life rooted in family, community and faith.

Maria devoted her life to caring for her family and those around her. She was known for her generous spirit and willingness to always lend a helping hand. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where no one ever left hungry. She found her greatest joy in spending time with family and friends, sharing meals, laughter and music.

Maria will be remembered for her selflessness, unwavering love and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cared for. She was the heart of our family, and her presence will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 and Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin St. N. at 12:00 p.m..
