Obituary of JOSE MANUEL DANIEL

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Jose Daniel, lovingly known as Joe.

Joe leaves behind his beloved brother and best friend, John; his younger brother, Tony (Delfina); his sisters, Elizabete (Neil) and Helena (Paul); as well as his cherished nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, all of whom will miss him dearly.

Joe was born in Sao Miguel, Azores, and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1971.

Joe had an infectious smile and an even greater gift for making others smile. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, or one of his famously cheesy jokes, he had a remarkable ability to brighten the lives of those around him. His warmth, generosity, and positive spirit left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A true free spirit, Joe embraced life with kindness, creativity, and compassion. He was a devoted brother, uncle, and friend, and a car enthusiast whose passion for vehicles was reflected in his many car magazines and car shows he would frequent.

Joe also treasured the many years he spent at JELD-WEN Windows, where he worked for 34 years. More than just a workplace, it became a second home, where he built meaningful friendships and earned the respect and affection of his colleagues.

Joe’s artistic talent was undeniable. His preferred canvas was spray paint, and through his creativity, he transformed countless two-wheelers into unique works of art. His talent and passion were admired by many, and his creations reflected the vibrant spirit with which he lived.

Though Joe’s passing leaves an immeasurable void, his laughter, kindness, creativity, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Parish, 181 Austin Street North, with entombment to follow at Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum.
