Obituary of Daniel HOWANYK
DANIEL LAMUEL HOWANYK
September 5, 1925 - April 21, 2009
Peacefully on April 21, 2009, Daniel passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 83 years to join his wife Antoinette (Terry).
Dad is survived by his 3 children, Don, Gail and Keith; 6 grandchildren and his brother Steven.
He was predeceased by his wife Terry; parents Catherine and Steven; 5 sisters and 4 brothers. He will be dearly missed and cherished by his long time friend Susan, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Dad was born in Winnipeg and was one of 11 children. Dad joined the Navy at the age of 17, during his time in service he met our Mom (Terry) Antoinette Solarz and they were married on July 13, 1946. Dad worked all his life as an electrician; he worked for 28 years with Schumacher McKenzie, as a superintendent of the electrical trade. It was not until late in life that Dad decided to open his own company, D.H. Electric, where he worked until his passing. He was a member for over 50 years with the IBEW Union and was a member of the #141 Legion until his passing.
He loved to curl, bowl and golf and garden. Dad's other love was going to his lake.
Dad was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel's memory to a charity of your choice.
Dad "Papa" you will be so missed and loved by each and every one of us, but know that you are always with us.
