Obituary of Olga Kane
OLLY KANE
Olga "Olly" Silvia Kane nee Tachenski, on November 17, 2008, passed away peacefully after a brief, courageous battle with cancer at the age of 73 years.
Olly's memory will be treasured by her beloved children Patrick Kane, Rhonda Dahmer, Julie Edwards and Corry Kane; grandchildren Logan Edwards and Rebecca Purdy; sister Sonia Tachenski; brother-in-law Mike Mundrick; ex-husband Jack Kane and friends, all of whom she considered family.
She was predeceased by brother Walter Tachenski; brothers-in-law Gerald and Jim Kane.
Olly was born June 26, 1935 in Winnipeg and grew up in the West Kildonan area. She worked for the federal and provincial governments and retired with Manitoba Telephone System.
Olly was an extremely loving and devoted mother and was always there for her four children, and their friends. In addition to the time she devoted to her family, she enjoyed writing, oil painting, crossword and jigsaw puzzles and family games of scrabble. She had a love for animals, and especially horses. She also enjoyed knitting and would donate mittens, scarves, and hats to several charities.
Olly's two grandchildren Logan and Rebecca brought much joy to her life, and she treasured the time she spent with them.
Olly was an extremely fair and accepting person. She will always be remembered for her kindness, sharp wit and above all, her love and devotion to her family.
We love you Mom and miss you dearly. We will always keep the loving memory of you close to our hearts.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Seven Oaks General Hospital, CancerCare Manitoba, WHSC for their care and compassion.
A private Funeral Service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Olly's memory to a charity of your choice.
