Obituary of Jean MAJSZYK
JEAN MAJSZYK
(Genowefa Zasatawiecka)
Nov. 10, 1924 - Nov. 26, 2008
It is with heavy hearts and much sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved Wife, Mama and Babcia on Wednesday November 26, 2008, peacefully and in the loving arms of her daughters.
Mama will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 58 years Henry, daughters Christine (Marijan Marincil), Joanne (Jack Marinic) and Monica Majszyk, and by her pride and joy, grandchildren Adam, Andrea, Gina, Nicholas, Andrew and Sierra, and by her very best friend Maria Lejman.
Mama was predeceased by her parents Stanislaw and Sonia Zastawiecka and her beloved son Stanley.
Mama was born in Rudnicki Poland on November 10, 1924 and immigrated to Canada in May of 1949. Mama and Dad were married April 15, 1950 and had just celebrated their 58th Anniversary. Mama worked at Fred Douglas Lodge for 16 years; those were very happy years for her. At the age of 65 Mama retired to being a proud and wonderful full time Babcia, who so enjoyed cooking and caring for her six grandchildren. Mama's greatest joy and priority was always her family. Our memories would speak volumes! Our Mama was a shining light and was loved by all that came to meet and know her. Her most greatest gift to her family was her unconditional love.
The Family wishes to thank Mama's extended loving family at St. Joseph's Residence for all your tender loving care for the past years. Mom and we were so truly blessed to have you as part of our lives.
Rosary will be said on Saturday, November 29 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m.. Interment will be at Holy Ghost Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Marijan Marincil, Jack Marinic, Adam Johnstone, Nicholas Marinic, Andrew Marinic and Walter Kostycz.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jean's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We miss you so much Mama, sleep in peace with the Lord. One day we will hold hands and embrace again. If our love could have kept you here you would still be with us.
