Ronald La Liberty Great Big Papa Chick-I-U February 6, 1940 - November 19, 2022 It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our father Ron, who passed away peacefully with family around him on November 19, 2022. He will be forever missed and loved by his children Alice (Mac) Taylor, Joe (Diana) La Liberty, Veronica (Gary) Dyck, Keith (Karen) Horn, Wendy (Albert) La Liberty, Susan (Murray) Travis, Todd (Donna) La Liberty, Colleen (Jason) Harder, many grandchildren, great - grandchildren, great- great- grandchildren and his sister Marie (Manny) La Liberty, brother John La Liberty. Ron was predeceased by his wife Anne of 38 years, daughter Janet La Liberty, brother Paul La Liberty and his parents Alice and Paul La Liberty. Dad was born in St. Boniface and spent several years exploring life in St. Norbert, St. Boniface and downtown Winnipeg. While as a young man, he lived in various places, the only home many of us have known and have fond memories of is the one he purchased over 55 years ago on Polson Avenue in the North end. Family was everything to Dad. No matter how many jobs he held or how long his days were, his greatest joy was to come home. Having nine children meant there was never a dull moment and most often the ‘pile on dad’ nights were the ones filled with laughter and joy. Whether it was planning a movie night at the drive inn, watching hockey on TV or playing card games like Crib and Rummoli and taking road trips, Dad always loved to share these special moments with us. He was a hard working man who had many jobs from the time he was very young. No matter what life threw at him, he made sure he could provide for his family, but one of his proudest achievements was when he promoted to sales at Browning Ferris Industries and became one of the top salesmen, as a result of his hard work. His success in this role was also due to the amazing team he and Mom made. She was a food sales representative with Western Grocers and then Sunspun Food Service. When new restaurants were establishing in Winnipeg, she would setup their food supplies. Often, she and Dad would drive around on Sundays so she could show him where to go for new account opportunities for garbage pick-up. Their reward was being able to create special memories and experience the world through the many trips he won as top salesmen. Dad took great pride in his grandchildren and great- grandchildren and relished the ability to see them begin their own adventures. His greatest legacy is about the importance of family and how we look after each other and this will continue through the generations. To you Dad our Little North End Magic, we wish you peace. We know that you and Mom are now reunited and have no doubt the great team is active once again. We would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health Centre for all their support, care and taking time out of their busy day to listen to our Dad’s stories. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday December 5, 2022, at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, at 1:00 p.m. A private interment will follow at a later date. If family and friends so desire they can make donations in Dad’s memory to Siloam Mission.

My Tribute Gift Foundation makes this online charitable giving portal web page MyTributeGift.org (the “Website”) available to you subject to your acceptance of and compliance with these terms of use (the “Terms of Use”). Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.
If in any part of these Terms of Use is held, by a court of competent jurisdiction, to be invalid or unenforceable, such part of these Terms of Use shall be eliminated to the extent permitted in that jurisdiction, for purposes of that jurisdiction, and the remaining Terms of Use shall otherwise remain in full force and effect.
These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified. It is your responsibility to review these Terms of Use regularly.
