Obituary of LOIS JEAN DOERKSEN
It is with heavy hearts, that we, the family of Lois Jean Doerksen (Townsend) announce her passing on February 22, 2020.
Lois was predeceased by her father in 1968, her mother in 1989, her husband Jake in 1988 and her son Kevin in 2000.
She is survived by her children Kelly (Peter) and Kristi (Blair); grandchildren Justin, Jemini (Matt), Jayda, Jake (Andrea) and great grandson Leo. She is also survived by her sisters Pat, Diane, Brenda and brother Don and too many friends to individually name.
Mom worked for the Royal Bank up until her retirement. Mom had two cabins in her lifetime, one in Woodridge while Dad was alive and another in Matlock after he passed.
Mom loved being surrounded by family and friends. Her family and friends meant the world to her.
In her younger years she enjoyed fishing, camping and snowmobiling. As she got older, she adored golfing and spent many hours on the golf course. Mom was one of a kind and will be missed greatly.
Thank you to the staff at Maples Personal Care Home for taking care of Mom during the last two years. Special thanks to the staff who sat with her 24/7 over the last month-we appreciate the love you showed her and so did she. And a very special thank you to all of Mom’s visitors over the past few years. You all made a difference. Thank you.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 29 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
Flowers are gratefully declined. If family/friends so wish please just be like our Mother and make a difference. A big difference in someone’s life. Give to a charity if you so wish, buy the guy behind you a coffee, or just spend good old quality time with someone you love. Mom would like that.
