Obituary of STEPHEN GEORGE GUY

Stephen George Guy passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in Winnipeg, MB at the age of 74.

Steve is survived by his two sons Kevin and Geoff and daughter in-law Alisha, his brothers Fred (Suzanne) and Ken (Catherine) and sister Marilyn. He is predeceased by his father Addison, mother Ida and brother Rick (Louzanne). 

Steve was born and raised in Woodbridge ON. He graduated from Waterloo University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science. Steve later moved to Manitoba where he raised his family and spent the majority of his working years with Agriculture Canada, retiring in 2013.

There was no greater paradise to Steve than being at Loch Erne Lake in Ontario surrounded by his family and friends. You could find him in the gazebo down by the water peacefully reading his favorite books.  

Steve had many hobbies and a rich social life. Throughout the years he valued being part of pool leagues, bowling leagues and dinner clubs. 

Steve was passionate about sports, this included coaching his sons’ baseball teams in their younger years. When not coaching, he loved watching the Blue Jays and the Winnipeg Jets. 

He spent his last years at The Melody where he enjoyed great food and made many meaningful new friendships. 

The family would like to thank the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for the care they provided to Steve. 

Family and friends are invited to join Steve’s Celebration of Life on Saturday January 27, 2024 from 2pm-6pm at the Irish Association of Manitoba (654 Erin Street, Winnipeg MB).
