Obituary of ELMER SEITZ
ELMER ALEXANDER SEITZ
NOVEMBER 12, 1934 – April 27, 2013
It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband,
father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Predeceased by his parents, Edith (Fissel) and Alex Seitz, his sisters Sheila and Delores, brother-in-law Percy and his cousins Alfred and Ann.
Lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce, children Cynthia (Mike), Catherine, Cheryl (Len), his grandchildren, Benjamin and Samara, Markel and Jaden, Donovan (Sierra), Chana, Justin and Karlei, his sisters Virginia (George), Beverley (Ken), many nieces, nephews and friends.
Elmer was born and raised in Beaver Plains District close to Pelly, SK. He moved to Wpg in 1957 where he met his loving and devoted wife Joyce.
Elmer worked for 50 plus years as a journeyman mechanic. There was never a vehicle he could not repair. He also taught mechanics at South Wpg Technical School, and RB Russell School, and he was a bartender. Elmer loved to socialize and spend time with people. He was very actively involved in St. Ignatius Church and for a number of years ushered and greeted the Parish members at the door. He was an active member in the Knight’s of Columbus Council 5808. He volunteered for many years at Crescentwood Community Centre and, after retiring, Elmer also volunteered for a number of years at the Health Sciences Centre. Elmer loved to watch sports, to cross stitch, do crossword puzzles, tinker with all the things he was given to fix and enjoyed playing games with family and friends. Elmer was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. There was nothing he would not do for others.
His family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff on B5 at the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and kindness.
