Obituary of FRANK CHWILOWICZ
FRANK CHWILOWICZ
1916 - 2013
Peacefully, Frank Chwilowicz, aged 96, passed away at Grace Hospital on May 18 with his daughter Kristine at his side.
He was the beloved father of Henry, Kristine (Dennis) Kripiakevich, and Wanda Waddell. Frank was predeceased by his wife of 38 years, Anna, in 1987 as well as one sister and two brothers, overseas.
Frank served as a sergeant in the Polish Air Force and Allied Forces in England during WWII, prior to immigrating to Canada and marrying Anna in 1949.
A carpenter by trade, Frank was always dependable and hard working and endured many hardships and personal sacrifices. While he valued his family the most, he also received enjoyment from such simple pleasures as an appreciation of nature, gardening, long walks, music, following current events, playing checkers, and meeting people.
Remarkably, Dad’s friendly nature, courteous and appreciative manner, sense of humour, and clarity of mind did not fade. He and our family never gave up hope and we gave each other the strength, on a daily basis, to carry on and make the most of our time together.
Our deepest gratitude is extended to all the very special people who touched our family’s lives throughout this 2-year journey; Dr. Milner and CancerCare, Seven Oaks Hospital and the close friendships made there, Grace Hospital, and especially to Oakview Place for his final year.
In accordance with Dad’s wishes, a private family service with Fr. Tomasz Krzesik of Holy Ghost Church officiating, has taken place with interment at Assumption Cemetery
"Tatusiu, you are forever in our hearts, loved and cherished."
