Obituary of ANNA SHEGELSKI

Anna Shegelski (1918 - 2013) It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Anna Shegelski - mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, on May 27, 2013. She is survived by her children Sally Bartnik (John), Stan Konowalchuk (Hilda), Lorne Konowalchuk (Donna), brothers Mike Levenec (Dorothy), and John Levenec (Jean). She also leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step children. She was predeceased by husband Harry Konowalchuk, daughter Lily Ann, and second husband John Shegelski. She was born Anna Levenec on February 22, 1918, in Sirko, Manitoba. She moved to Winnipeg in 1935, married Harry in 1936, and had four children. After Harry's passing, she married John in 1964 and moved to Kenora, Ontario. She enjoyed entertaining the many family members and friends who often came to visit. She was a member of the Canadian Daughters League in Kenora, enjoyed sewing, and was widely known for her famous perogies. She moved to Winnipeg in 1997 to be closer to her daughter. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Golden Door Personal Care Home for the care and well-being of our mother. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment in Brookside Cemetery.
