Obituary of BRUCE LACKEY
BRUCE LACKEY
Bruce passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 13, 2013 with family by his side, at the age of 70 years.
Bruce will be lovingly remembered by his wife Delores; children Bruce Malcolm, Mark (Christal), Colleen (Darin), Bill (Marliese), Rob and Darryl; grandchildren, Natashia, Quinn, Jasmine, Bryan, Jayden and Ryland: his sisters, Sandra (Paul), Karen (Mike), Dianne (Paul), Wendy (Rick), Donna (Jim) and several nieces and nephews.
Bruce was predeceased by his parents Elmer and Elizabeth and infant daughter, Katherine and his best friend and pet, Max.
Bruce served with the RCAF for 13 years in crash fire rescue, then later worked for the Provincial Government for over 25 years, taking early retirement due to ill health.
Bruce’s love and passion were spending his summers at Spruce Sands Trailer Park, where we made many wonderful long lasting friendships over the many years we were there. Bruce also loved fishing, hunting and woodworking.
Our deep appreciation to all the Home Care staff, especially Kim, his Co-coordinator, staff at Luther Home day program, especially Judy, and all the staff at the Maples Personal Care Home where Bruce lived for the past 17 months. You all hold a very special place in our hearts. We would also like to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for your compassion and caring.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to Winnipeg Pet Rescue Centre.
