Obituary of LAURENCE MICHALSKI
LAURENCE (LARRY) AUGUST MICHALSKI
August 31, 1920 - June 5, 2013
Peacefully, Larry Michalski passed away at the age of 92.
He will be lovingly remembered and loved by his children Laraine Lussier (Paul), Marie Petrie (Alistair), Kathy De Val (Gordon), Teresa Solta; 11 grandchildren,
7 great-children and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister Eleanor Verrier (Maurice), sisters-in-law Helen and Catherine Kraemer.
Larry is predeceased by his loving wife, Marge, his parents, sister Adeline and granddaughter Marisa Solta.
As a young man Larry loved music and dancing. In 1940, he met the love of his life Margaret, Marge (nee Kraemer) at a barn dance and that was the beginning for them. He attended the University of Manitoba and after graduating (Agriculture) got married on May 20, 1944. Larry and Marge then moved to British Columbia where he worked on producing seed for the liberty gardens in Europe. When he returned to Winnipeg in December he worked with Marge in the Kraemer shoe factory (Northern Shoe). He then went to Searle Grain and from there landed a job as an Ag Rep for Beausejour and region where he worked for 13 years until his retirement in January 1985.
He was a dedicated husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. Larry loved music, woodworking, gardening, being with people, traveling, golfing and celebrating with family and friends. He was a man of faith and always made time for those around him in need.
The family would like to thank the Maples Care Centre for all the wonderful care Larry received while he was there.
