MARIA DA LUZ MEDEIROS TELES
Peacefully on June 27, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Residence, Maria da Luz Medeiros Teles passed away at age 87 with her family by her side. Maria da Luz leaves to mourn her passing, husband Joao da Costa Teles, sons John Manuel (Annette), Altino (Zoila) and daughter Maria (Tajinder), sisters Conceicao, Gloria, Irnestina, and Rosarinha and various nieces and nephews. She will be dearly remembered by her grandchildren Destiny, Matthew, Gabriela, Sarmina and Emmitt.
Maria da Luz was born in Sao Miguel, Azores on September 11, 1925 and immigrated to Canada in 1965. She was the matriarch of the family and was always devoted to her children and grandchildren. She always found time for her family and spent her life caring and giving to others. She had a passion for sewing/dressmaking and always made her own clothes. She was a very hardworking lady who never sat still. She will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank all the staff at St. Joseph’s Residence especially Dr. Babick for all their kindness, caring and support .
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church 181 Austin Street N., Wpg. with Father Andre Lico officiating. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery 3990 Portage Ave. Wpg. Flowers are gratefully declined.
