Obituary of NELLIE LENCHYSHYN
NELLIE LENCHYSHYN
December 29, 1917 – July 7, 2013
Peacefully on Sunday, July 7, 2013 Nellie passed away at Pembina Place Mennonite PCH at the age of 95.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Marion Lagasse, California, Patsy Olson, Windsor, Vicky Hallpenny, Winnipeg, Agnes St. Hilaire (Lucien), Winnipeg, Gloria Baudry (Richard), Ste. Agathe; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Nellie is predeceased by her beloved husband Stephen Lenchyshyn; grandson Lee St. Hilaire; sisters, Francis (her twin), Mary, Josephine; and brothers, Walter and Mike.
Our mother had a fun loving spirit and was very caring, everyone she met loved her. Nellie was born in Howden, MB. She worked with her family as market gardeners. In 1938, she married our father Stephen Lenchyshyn and they worked together on the farm in Glenlea, MB. Some of her favourite pastimes were gardening, puzzles and photography. Despite her failing health she never complained. She always had something positive to say and an inspiration to everyone around her! She was a woman of great pride and dignity.
Our family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Pembina Place PCH for taking such good care of our mother. She loved you as much as you loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 12 at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Fr. Deacon L. Twerden officiating. Interment will take place in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, 1282 Red River Drive, St. Norbert, MB.
In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made to Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery, 1978 Loudoun Rd., Winnipeg, MB R3S 1A4
