Obituary of RT. REV. MITRED ARCHPRIEST MIKOLAJ DEREWIANKA
Rt. Rev. Mitred Archpriest Mikolaj Derewianka
Rt. Rev. Mitred Archpriest Mikolaj Derewianka fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2013 in Winnipeg at the age of 69.
Fr. Mikolaj is survived by his loving wife Dobr. Evhenia (nee Janice Gorchynski); his three children, Pavlo of Edmonton, Maria of Edmonton, and Natalia (Allan Berggren) and grandchild Thomas Ryan Berggren of Lacombe; his brothers, His Eminence the Rt. Rev. Archbishop Ioan, Archbishop of London, England, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, Rev. Father Vitali (Pani Matka Frieda), Dr. Mikhailo (Josee) and sister Tanja, and many nieces and nephews of Belgium.
Fr. Mikolaj was predeceased by his parents Pavlo Derewianka and Katerina Chomenko, his brother Anatolie and sister Maria, his sisters-in-law Marie-Josee (Detremmerie), wife of Anatolie, and Pani Matka Wira (Baczynskyj), wife of Archbishop Ioan.
Commencement of the Funeral Rite will be held at St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral at 820 Burrows Avenue, Winnipeg on Monday, August 19, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Rite will also be held at the Cathedral on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
