Obituary of TANYA DAMSGAARD
TANYA DAMSGAARD
Tanya Damsgaard (nee: Howe), passed away August 26, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born October 2, 1975 in Moose Jaw, she grew up on the family farm at Baildon. Tanya enjoyed piano lessons and singing with the Joy Singers at Zion United Church. She raised cattle and 4-H projects were an activity for the whole family. She attended Lindale School, Peacock High School, and received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Saskatchewan in 1998. She moved to Swan River, MB after graduation where she met Rob and they were married on December 21, 2002. They moved to Winnipeg in 2003 and Tanya continued in her profession with Superstore, London Drugs and the Teulon Pharmacies. Tanya is survived by her husband Rob of Winnipeg; parents Dale and Lois Howe; brother Mike Howe and Lisa Cunningham, brother Kelly and Julie Anne Howe and niece and nephew Matt and Elise all of Moose Jaw; sister-in-law Donna (Bill) Wilford of Winnipeg and nieces Meaghan, Marissa and Madison; sister-in-law Karen (Ken) Irvine of Winnipeg and nephews Kris of Fort McMurray, AB and Kraig (Jennifer) of Oakbank, MB; brother-in-law Bonar (Sherri) Damsgaard of Kelowna, BC and nephews Brad of Vancouver, BC and Kevin of Vernon, BC; brother-in-law Brian (Wendy) Damsgaard and nephews Dwayne (Jamie) and Darren (Nicci) all of Dauphin, MB: grandfather John Bunnell; uncle Doug Howe; uncle Merv (Denise) Bunnell and cousins Travis (Lindsay) all of Moose Jaw, Allison (Kyle), and Leah (Steve) all of Regina; aunt Marlene (Terry) Hooper and cousins Sean and Jessica of Regina: uncle Jeff (Sharon) Bunnell of Moose Jaw and cousins Crystal (Andrew), Chantel (Alex) all of Calgary, Daryl of Moose Jaw and Derrick of Swift Current; aunt Cheryl Bunnell and cousins Tara and Mitch of Regina; great-niece Addie of Dauphin; and cousins Oliver, Baron and Bianca, Henry and Claire. Tanya is predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Fred and Laura Damsgaard; grandpa and grandma Elgin and Lottie Howe, grandma Jean and grandma Dora. The Celebration of Tanya’s life will be held at Zion United Church, 423 Main St.N., Moose Jaw, on Thursday August 29, 2013 at 1:30 pm. Reverend Doug Hallman and Della Ferguson will officiate. Memorialization will take place at Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Imagine a Place Campaign at the Assiniboine Park Zoo, or to CancerCare Manitoba, would be appreciated.
