MAURICE PELESHOK
Peacefully on August 31, 2013 Maurice Peleshok passed away at Maples Personal Care Home. His memory will be cherished by his daughter Connie (Donald), granddaughter Shantel, sisters Olive and Nancy, godson Grant (Jo-Ann) and numerous nieces nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Nonie, his parents Stephan and Mary, brothers, Steve, Tyrone, Neal, Mike, John, sisters, Katherine, Mary, Margaret and Anne.
Maurice was born in Tolstoi, Manitoba on August 18, 1922. Maurice loved nature and gardening. He played baseball with the "Hungry Nines" and belonged to several curling teams. He met his wife Nonie, while studying to be a teacher. Maurice loved being a teacher. He went in early everyday to help students. He retired in 1988 after teaching for 43 years. He was an active member of the church and church brotherhood. Upon retirement he put his heart and soul into helping care for his granddaughter Shantel. His famous "Grampa Ghetti", chicken soup and chauffer service were happily shared.
Prayers will be said on Friday, September 6 at 8:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private family funeral service will take place at a later date. Memorial Donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or to Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. R2X 0R2.
