Obituary of ADA BISMAYER
ADA BISMAYER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and tante, Ada Bismayer on September 16, 2013 at the age of 90. Ada was predeceased by her husband John and brothers, Leonard and Kris.
She is survived by her brother Harry, her sisters Annette and Helga (Hans) and her grand-nephews, Dieter (Darlene) and Eric (Joanne) and his children, Holly, Ben and Monica.
Ada was born in Poland on October 16, 1922 and moved to Winnipeg with her family in January, 1949. She met and married her husband, John, who, after a short marriage, passed away suddenly in 1968. She worked at Ogilvie Mills for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed the outdoors including gardening, fishing and going for walks. She was well known in the neighbourhood for her daily walks to the store. Her other love was singing, which she did for her church choir and in the German Society Choir until her late 80’s.
Special thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge who attended to her needs and provided care and support through her final year. You are in a better place now but our memories of you will be with us always.
A private family service will be held.
