KENNETH EDWIN WEIDMAN
October 28, 1952 – September 27, 2013
After a stubborn battle with ALS, Ken passed away on September 27, 2013 in the Riverview Health Centre.
Ken leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife of thirty years, Peggy, his daughter, Lisa (Greg) and his two very precious grandchildren Tyler and Robyn. Ken was very close with his brother Herb (Leona) and their three children, Kelly (Tracie), Rhonda White and his Godson, Barry (Corrine) who made it his mission to keep Uncle’s spirits up by sending him many jokes and friendly emails.
Ken was predeceased by his parents Fred and Emilie Weidman, his oldest brother Roy (Alice) of Kelowna, B.C., oldest sister Ilene Baker (Clarence-deceased) of Beausejour, Man. Ken’s survived by siblings Ted (Louise), Hilda (Reg) Pfieffer, Irene (Lawrence-deceased) Steinke all of Winnipeg, Man. He also leaves his brother-in-laws: the late Mickey & Spencer Neill both of Winnipeg, father-in-law Reginald Neill of Victoria, B.C. , brother–in-law Dennis Neill (Gail) of Thompson, Man. , sister-in-law Louise Teichrib (Cliff) of Stoney Mountain , brother-in-law Brian Neill (Hasina) of Irving Texas . Ken had very fond memories of all the happy times he shared with his many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Ken lived with Motor Neuron Disease all his life and his courage and determination to lead a "normal" life were an inspiration to all that knew him.
We wish to Thank Rosie Zerdin; his Angel on Earth- Matthew Webber, Richard & Lorraine Baker, Richard, Kim Rogoski and their three daughters Ashley, Stacey and Lynsey for all the help and support. Also, all the staff on 3 East at Riverview for their patience and understanding when working with Ken. All the staff from Comforts of Home Care for their generous hearts. We also want to send a huge Thank you to the ALS Society of Manitoba – Diana and Angela, we couldn’t have done it without your support and advice over the last two years. There are just too many people to thank individually (friends, employers, co-workers, etc.) for all your support, so please accept this as a personal "Thank you"
Ken was the Glue that held us all together.
