WACLAWA HOLATKO
Peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at St. Joseph's Residence Waclawa (Wanda) passed away at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Stanley Holatko.
Wanda is survived by her loving family, son Frank (Patti); grandson Nick Holatko, all of Comox, BC, granddaughter Kassia (Moses) Barett, of Forest Grove, Oregon. Also mourning the loss is her daughter Bozena (Mark), grandchildren, Kayla and Kelsey Storimans, all of Winnipeg.
Wanda was born in Poland on December 27th, 1924. After WWII Wanda survived prison camp and sought refuge in Canada. Wanda met Stanley in Winnipeg and they were married in 1953. They settled and purchased their first home in West Kildonan. Wanda began her working career at the Misericordia Hospital and stayed there for 12 years. She then moved to the Riverview Hospitals for the next seventeen years. She was dedicated to her family and in her faith.
The family would like to express their profound gratefulness to all of the staff on the second floor of St. Joseph's Residence.
A viewing will held on Monday, October the 7th at 10:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
