Obituary of JULIA CSUPAK
JULIA CSUPAK (NEE BODA)
January 14, 1933 - October 9, 2013.
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Julia Csupak, on October 9, 2013 at Concordia Hospital.
Julia was born on January 14, 1933 in Pincehely, Hungary. It was in Budapest that she met the love of her life, her beloved husband Rezso (Joe) Csupak. After emigrating from Hungary in 1956 during the Hungarian revolution, Julia and Joe came and settled in Winnipeg, making it their home. Together they worked hard, and built a good life for their family. In her earlier years, Julia was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Hungarian RC Church and was an enthusiastic member of the Kapisztran choir and Folk ensemble.
To know Julia was to love her. You were always greeted by a big smile and a "how'd you do", offered food relentlessly, and loved unconditionally. Her life revolved around her husband and family who she always looked out for and would dote on selflessly. Though she was often quiet and soft spoken, she had an incredible sense of humour, a warm smile, an easy laugh and a strong will to fight through even the most difficult situations without a complaint. She is described by many as an Angel sent to earth, because of her unassuming and kind disposition. Today, our Angel became an Angel of God. Nanny/Anyu, words cannot describe how incredibly much you will be missed. We thank you for everything you have brought into our lives and look forward to seeing you again.
Julia will lovingly be remembered and cherished by her husband and soul mate who she adored for the last 59 years, Rezso (Joe) Csupak; sons Zoltan (Elaine) and Arch (Sandra) Csupak; adoring grandchildren Kristen, Andrew, Erika, James, Brian, and Jennifer; sisters Rozsi and Margit of Hungary; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by parents Maria Gabor and Istvan Boda, brothers Istvan and Jozsef, sister Erzsi, and best friend Julia.
The family would like to extend thanks to those who made living at home possible for Julia. A special thanks to Dr. Kuegle for his dedicated care and compassion, HSC and Concordia ER and medical ward staff, Barb at Concordia Village, and nurses Pat and Karen who made all her days bright and cheerful.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, October 17 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anthony of
Padua Hungarian Roman Catholic Church, 365 Burnell St.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
