Obituary of NOELLA HENTON PERCHYSHYN
NOELLA HENTON PERCHYSHYN
Noella Henton Perchyshyn, formerly of Kenora, Ontario, died suddenly on November 3, 2013 at her home in Winnipeg, Manitoba, aged 68.
Born March 24, 1945, in Kenora, Ontario, she was the daughter of Oscar L. Landry and Margaret M. Langner. She grew up in Norman, on beautiful Lake of the Woods, and lived in Kenora for the early part of her adult life.
Noella relocated to Winnipeg in the early 90s, and attended Red River College to become a Health Care Aide, subsequently working for several years at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Throughout her life, she enjoyed many hobbies, including gardening and knitting. Noella was an excellent cook/baker, and would often share her creations with friends, groups and the less fortunate. In addition, she was an 'organizer extraordinaire', as anyone who knew her would attest to.
Music has always been an important part of Noella's life. As a young girl she would often entertain her family playing the accordion, and she always enjoyed dancing.
She passed on her love of music to her daughter, Tara, who was her biggest joy in life. She was very proud of all of her accomplishments and avidly followed her musical success, listening to her music everyday.
Noella was predeceased by her second husband, Steve Perchyshyn, parents Oscar and Margaret Landry and brother-in-law John Wilder.
Noella will be sadly missed by her daughter, Tara (Kevin); her sisters, Carol (Bob) Smith and Diane Wilder; her brother Don (Laura) Landry; her nieces Paula (Patrick) James, Crystal Landry, Carly Wilder, and her nephew Dean (Jana) Smith. She is also survived by her uncle Arnold Langner of Edmonton, her great-nieces Samantha James and Rylee Smith, her great-nephew Jarod Landry, as well as many other loving relatives.
Following Noella's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Noella's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. in Winnipeg on Thursday, November 14th at 11:00 a.m. A private family interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
Mom, through the years you were a great friend to many people, and touched so many lives. Your kindness, humour and love will always be remembered.
