LARRY FEDORCHUK
February 25, 1942 – November 13, 2013
Peacefully on November 13, 2013, Larry Fedorchuk passed away surrounded by his family at the Health Sciences Centre at 71 years of age.
Larry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Phyllis; daughter Jennifer (Scott) Hanslip; son Jeff (Andrea); grandchildren Sarah, Kayla, and Emily; aunts Mary, Molly, Phyllis (Steve); sister-in-law Doreen (Arnie) Otto; brothers-in-law Mike Felewich (Diane Skoleski), Allan (Dale) Felewich; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Frances; and brothers, Johnny and Tom.
Larry was born on February 25, 1942 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. After graduating from Churchill High School, he began a long career with the Bank of Montreal working at numerous branches within Winnipeg as well as several branches outside the city including: Portage La Prairie, Morden, Gimli, and Carman before retiring in 1994. Larry and Phyllis were married in 1968 and recently celebrated 45 years of marriage. Larry was an active member of St. Basil‘s Parish and the Knights of Columbus for many years. His interests included reading to his grandchildren, playing cribbage, having coffee with friends, watching football and hockey, and following the stock markets. Larry enjoyed travelling to various places over the years, especially Hawaii.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Health Sciences Centre GH6 ward for their care during Larry’s short stay in the hospital. We are very appreciative to family and friends who supported us throughout his illness.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The CancerCare Manitoba Foundation (1160-675 McDermot Ave.) or to a charity of your choice.
Divine Liturgy will be held at St. Basil’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Walter Klimchuk officiating. Interment will be at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
