DAVID LEWIS DIXON MACDONALD
September 6, 1941 – November 15, 2013
Peacefully after a long illness David passed away at the Riverview Health Centre in Winnipeg on November 15, 2013.
David was born in Grand Lake, Nova Scotia, to Lewis and Helen MacDonald. After entering the army David met and married Carolynne (Gair) in Winnipeg and after a posting in Germany settled in Winnipeg and returned home to Grand Lake to visit often.
David was predeceased by his parents and sisters Nola and Grace.
He is survived by his wife, sister Nancy, daughters Kari, Teresa (Stephen), Leigh (Al), Lisa; grandchildren Emily, Stuart and many nieces and nephews, and other family in Nova Scotia and across Canada.
David and the family thank the many people of WHRA Palliative Care including doctors, nurses and home care workers who made it possible for David to remain at home. Thanks to the staff of the Riverview Health Centre for their compassion and care. A special thanks to Olga, Lauretta, Kurt, Jordan, Josh and Marites.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, Riverview Health Centre, or Mackenzie's Hope.
