Obituary of Stella Trush
STELLA TRUSH
(Nee Pondy)
With deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Stella, aged 90 years, on Friday, May 27, 2011 at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.
Stella was born in 1921 in Cooks Creek, MB and was educated at Zora School. She worked at various jobs in Winnipeg but her greatest joy was the farm she shared with Dad at Oakbank where she lived for many years.
Mom was always there for all of us whenever we needed help.
Stella is survived by her son Raymond (Lorna); daughter Rosalie (Ken); grandson Michael (Kareena), granddaughter Colleen, granddaughter Rosalie (Ben), grandson Jeffrey (Tanya) and great grandchildren Austen, Taylor, Danielle, Luc, Isabelle and Lilyana. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Zita and Teenie and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1996; her mother in 1959; her father in 1964; sisters Mary, Lillian, Pauline, Ann and baby Jennie; brothers Mike, John, Dan, Harry, Peter and baby Paul.
Stella was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church, Cooks Creek and St. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral.
The family sincerely thanks Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM, parish priest at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, for his many visits to her home, Seven Oaks Hospital and the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg.
We express our appreciation for the compassionate care given to Mom by the staff at the Middlechurch Home.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, May 31 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with Father Isidore Dziadyk officiating. A private funeral service and interment will take place at Immaculate Conception Church Parish Cemetery in Cooks Creek, MB.
Pallbearers will be Michael Trush, Jeffrey Taylor, Ben Dionne, Lawrence Trush, Jody Everton and Judy Gayda.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Stella’s memory to The Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Winnipeg MB R3C 3R6.
