Obituary of Anne ANTONATION
ANNE ANTONATION
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister and aunt, Anne Antonation on June 28, 2008 at St. Boniface Hospital, at the age of 91 years, after a lengthy illness.
She leaves to mourn her brother Lloyd (wife Merle) of Winnipeg, Mike of Vancouver, and Orest (wife Anne) of Calgary. Her sisters Lucy Fitzell of Vernon, B.C., Marie McDonald, Rose Fedorowich, Helen Ahlgren all of Winnipeg, and sister-in-law Dorothy of Winnipeg as well a numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Tina Antonation, her brothers Bill, Fred, Johnny, Matt, Pete and Roy and her sister Jean Carrierre.
Anne had lived a full and independent life until the last year where her sickness robbed her of the once great vitality she had for life. She had to rely more on her younger sister Helen for support. Anne was blessed with many friends because she respected everyone no matter their ethnicity. She always stopped to say "Hello". Even through her own sickness, she was an inspiration because she put other people's needs in front of her own by visiting them in the hospital, as well as assisting her numerous nieces and nephews. She was also a supporting member of the St. Joseph's Church. We, the surviving family, wish to gratefully thank Dr. Brunt and the staff of the 6th Floor, South A Wing at the St. Boniface Hospital for their tireless efforts in making our sister and aunt as comfortable as possible during the remaining days of her illness.
Prayers will be held on Friday, July 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 5 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Church, Alverstone and Burnell St. Interment to follow in Holy Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her nephews.
I'M FREE
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God laid for me I took His hand when I heard Him call I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day To laugh, to love, to work or play. Tasks left undone must stay that way. I found that place at the close of day. If my parting has left a void Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things, I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch. Perhaps my time seemed all too brief. Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me God wanted me now. He set me free.
