Obituary of JAMES MILLAR
James (Jim) Robert Alexander Millar
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my husband (Jim) on October 7, 2011 at the Seven Oaks Hospital.
Jim was predeceased by his father (Alex) 1993, his mother (Nellie) 2004, his sister (Gladys) 2000 and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years Sheila, his mother-in-law Cathy, his brother-in-law Ken, his sisters-in-law Betty (Gary) and Jean (Stan), along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jim worked for the Winnipeg School Division #1 for 29 years before retiring in June 2006. Through many years he loved travelling in our RV across Canada and the United States. Jim’s passion was sports; he enjoyed playing broomball with the Metro Men’s Broomball Team and later on became the coach. He received many trophies. Throughout his life he enjoyed watching his sports on TV, especially football and hockey.
I with to give a special thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the I.C.U. of Seven Oaks Hospital. Thank you for all of your care and compassion. A very special thank you to his family doctor, Dr. J. Moncek for all your caring, devotion, and compassion through the years.
At Jim’s request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 14, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Rest in Peace My Love.
