One of the most memorable night shifts of my career was with just Dave and I working the desk in Winnipeg. It was memorable purely for the fact that we had intense giggles over several hours. I still smile about that 10 years later. The sound of Dave's laugh was high pitched and distinct, which was probably what helped keet it going (at least for me). As a meteorologist, I learned a lot from Dave and feel very fortunate that he took the time to help me as a young meteorologist at the time. Truly a one of a kind, passionate person and the kind of person who will be on my all-time roster of favorite night-shift characters. With deepest sympathy to his family Matt Loney
