WASYL BILOWUS December 25,1925-November 5,2008 With great sorrow, we announce the peaceful passing of our father after a brief illness at St Boniface Hospital. Wasyl was born in Zhukiv Ukraine, and was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Barbara in December 2007 and his son Peter in May 1995. He will be deeply missed by his sons Michael (Judy), George (Louise), Bogdan (Karen) and daughter Daria (John Vickers) His grandchildren Cindy Loeb (Kevin), Theodore (Amanda), David (Vanessa), Angela Kazuk (Kevin) and Jennifer, and his great-grandchildren Jordan, Brayden, Riley Nathan, Kayla and Dylann, with relatives and many friends in Ukraine, Germany and Australia. At the age of 16 Wasyl left for Germany where he drove for the Red Cross in the English Army and this is also where he met and married his beloved Barbara, and they went on to have five children and in 1965 immigrated to Winnipeg. Father worked at Dominion Bridge until retiring in 1988. Wasyl was involved with Institute Prosvita and every Ukrainian Christmas he would be out even on the coldest nights carolling with his friends, knowing there will be some "Dai Bozhe" at the end of the night. He has left us with so many memories there are too many to list and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. As a family, we would like to thank Home Care (Zofia and Franciska) and MICU at St Boniface Hospital. Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 11 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
