Obituary of Paul Bouchard

Paul Euclid Joseph Bouchard August 4, 1935 - April 9, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend Paul Bouchard at home on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at the age of 73 years. Paul was born on August 4, 1935 in Letellier, Manitoba to Michael and Marie Bouchard. He was the youngest of six children and the only son. He went on to marry the love of his life Arlene and they had three children. Paul loved his family dearly and cherished every moment that they spent together. He was a hard worker and worked many years at Western Paper Box before retiring. When he wasn't out working he was known to joke around a lot and always had stories to tell about the "good old days". He will be remembered for his caring and thoughtful ways. He had a heart of gold, and was always there to lend a helping hand even when it wasn't asked of him. Paul spent many days out in the yard and garage fiddling around to keep busy. He was definitely a people person; he could walk down the street and strike up a conversation with just about anyone, he will be missed in the neighborhood in which he lived for well over 40 years. Remaining to forever cherish Paul's memory and mourn his loss are his son Gerald, grandchildren Alyson and Paul, his precious great-grandchildren Ethan, Malikhi and Nevaeh, daughter-in-law Leila, sisters Lucille (Bruno), Bertha, Yvette (Joe), Mother in-law Hazel, brothers-in-law Harold (Denise), Glen (Mona), Frank, and Henry, sisters-in-law Diane, Nancy (Paul), Jackie, Sandra (Joe), Sharon (Ron), Auntie Pauline, as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and of course his dog Fluffy. Paul was predeceased by his beloved and cherished wife Arlene in 1996, his daughters Gail in 1962 and Joyce in 1967, his mother Marie, father Michael, father-in-law Arthur, sisters Lily and Marguerite, brother-in-law Jack, sister-in-law Florence, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousin and friends which whom there are too many to mention. The family would like to thank the EMS attendants and the police officers who attended Paul's home on the morning of his passing, as well as the several friends and neighbors who stopped by to offer their condolences, sent flowers, cards, food and baking, it was all very much appreciated. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with reception to follow in the recreation room at 204 Watson. Flowers are gratefully declined and in lieu donations can be made in Paul's memory to either the Winnipeg Humane Society or The Children's Make a Wish Foundation. A Heart of Gold A heart of gold stopped beating, working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove He only takes the best. Leaves and flowers may wither; the golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly are the ones that won't forget. God bless you, we love you.
