Obituary of KEN LOUIS DUTCHAK
KEN LOUIS DUTCHAK
August 6, 1952 – January 2, 2012
It is with deep sorrow the Dutchak family announces the passing of Ken on January 2, 2012 at the age of 59 years.
Born in Winnipeg, Ken was the beloved father of Christopher, Heather, Ryan and Kathryn and husband of Irene. He is survived by his father, Louis; sister, Dawn (Mark); two nieces and six nephews. Ken was predeceased by his mother, Olga.
Ken fought a very long and courageous battle with cancer. As was Ken’s way, he remained eternally optimistic and forever determined. Ken’s life long environmental passion for nature contributed to his most cherished memories with his family and friends. Ken was an accomplished photographer who could always be seen with a camera around his neck. He had an artistic flair and was as adept working with wood and clay as he was with stained glass. His creative and multifaceted talents took Ken in countless directions, as his playful energy knew no bounds.
Ken was a true renaissance man. He was a dedicated family man and a tireless volunteer, particularly with Motorcycle Ride for Dad and the United Way. He selflessly gave of himself and was always the first to lend a helping hand.
Visitation was held between 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at Connelly McKinley Funeral Home, 10011 -114 Street, Edmonton. A Funeral Service will take place at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 7 at the same location.
A Memorial Service will also be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba with interment of the urn to follow.
Charitable donations in Ken’s memory may be made to the Edmonton Chapter of Motorcycle Ride for Dad.
