Obituary of NELL ST. LAWRENCE
Nellie Joan (nee Falvarok) St. Lawrence
It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother, Nana, Great Nana, and Auntie on January 5, 2012. Nellie was predeceased by her beloved husband Allen on June 2, 1990 and son Roderick (Dorothy) on August 22, 1986.
She will be greatly missed by both friends and family: daughter, Sandra (Jack), and son Michael (Lucy); grandchildren, Buddy-Allen (Kristin), and Jay-Paul (Christa), Celeste and Natalia; numerous great-grandchildren; nephew, Gary; nieces, Karen and Diane. Nellie also leaves to mourn her passing Arnaldo, Narcisa, and Mario Rocha. Nellie was born July 13, 1923 in Winnipeg, MB. Nellie attended Daniel McIntyre Collegiate where she loved playing on the varsity basketball team. She married Allen St. Lawrence shortly after his return from serving in the Canadian Navy and started raising a family. Nellie was a devoted wife and mother. During this time, she started working in retail first for United Cigar Stores, and then the T. Eaton Co. until her retirement. Nellie enjoyed 5-pin bowling and played on provincial level teams earning many trophies. Her interest in sports changed from bowling to golf, where she participated in many charity golf events. Nellie enjoyed travelling on bus and cruise tours seeing Europe, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii.
A celebration of Nellie's life will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 7 p.m. with, Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault officiating. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery on Monday, January 16 at 10:00 a.m.
