Obituary of Sonia Cadzow

Sonia (Sunny) A. Cadzow Nee Mosienko 1931-2010 It is with very sad heavy hearts that on July 7, 2010 we said "see ya later" to our dearly loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister (in-law), and special friend. Left to cherish her loving memories is her life partner of 56 plus years, Chris, her "babe" daughter Jaye (Rick Rebeck), son Robin (Annette and Chelsea) and the light of her life granddaughter Quynn (Jeff). Along with her brood of 3 cats Charlie, Mama, and Baby, her brother Mitch (Ann) and numerous nieces and nephews along with her life long friends "the gang." As a youngster Mom attended Faraday School and Isaac Newton School. Mom had a few careers, working at Eaton's and for Office Overload, which took her to a variety of different jobs. As a young mother, Mom became the night Supervisor at Great West Life. She then changed direction and did some book keeping at Cropo Funeral Chapel for Tom Cropo, close friend of the family. When her daughter applied at Air Canada Mom thought, "1 want to apply too ... " needless to say Mom got the job first. Mom retired from Air Canada in 1997. Her employment at the airline allowed Mom and Dad to take many trips including a very memorable trip to Disneyworld to watch their granddaughter enjoy a trip of a lifetime, and a trip to the Bahamas with their good neighbors. Mom especially enjoyed and loved several trips to Florida to visit with her special and best friend. Mom was active in the East St. Paul community volunteering, and enjoying a good 01' party at the community center. Mom would try to accomplish most anything, which was evident in the trophies she achieved in bowling, with her team partners. Mom really enjoyed golfing, especially at the lake and afterwards a little dinner and a kick butt game of canasta. She always enjoyed a good game of cards or a little trip to the casino. Mom had a zest for life, which included a lot of hard work, and this can be seen in their family home in East St. Paul and at their cottage in Lac du Bonnett. The cottage was Mom's haven and she was very proud of it, by welcoming and entertaining family and friends. Mom was predeceased by her parents Marg and Mickey Mosienko and sister Eileen Everitt. In lieu of flowers, to honour Mom's love for animals, please make a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or an animal shelter of your choice. As per Mom's wishes and respecting these wishes, there will be no formal service. The family would like to express a special thank you to the Doctors and Nurses of 3B at the St. Boniface Hospital. Mom, your love for nature keeps you near us When the birds sing, we will hear your voice, When the stars shine we will see your eyes When the "sun" is shining you are with us......always.
