Obituary of Roni Carnochan

Roni Carnochan Oct. 6, 1951 - Sept. 27, 2009 With great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Roni. She was predeceased by her parents Gordon and Dorothy Carnochan. Her surviving family members include her spouse Millie, son Ryan, daughter Tara (Neil), half sister Audrey, and brother Willis. Grieving as well are several aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and numerous friends made along the way. We as friends and family of Roni will never forget this precious life. It all began in Winnipeg on Oct. 6, 1951. Her growing years were spent on the farm near Grandview, MB. In her teens her family moved to the town of Grandview. From there she attended and graduated from Gilbert Plains Collegiate. At 18 she moved to the big city of Winnipeg. Her career began when she was hired by MTS where she made many life-long friends. It was while she was at MTS that she met and married Erwin Klann in 1975. In 1977, when Ryan was born, she left her career behind to become a full time mom. Tara followed in 1979. While the kids were still young she took several accounting courses at the University of Manitoba. Her accounting career led her to Martel Stewart in 1983. From 1985 to 1988 Roni decided to pursue her love of driving and became a Zipper courier. She then found one of her "dream jobs"; school bus driver from 1988-2002 for Seven Oaks School Division where she made many friends. While at Seven Oaks, Roni met her life partner Millie in 1993. They tied the knot in Sept of 2008. Through the years she continued her love for numbers, establishing VRK Accounting. This ultimately became her full-time business. For many years she worked with the Scouts, Brownies, and as a baseball coach; a testimony of her love for children. She was proud of her many donations to the Canadian Blood Services. Roni's other great passions were camping, animals (especially strays), carpentry, sewing, cooking, athletics-lets face it, Roni was our Renaissance woman. We want to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion. It was greatly appreciated. Everyone loved our Roni. She was an instant friend and confidante. She gave without thought for herself. We miss you my love. Go in peace. Services will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Tues. Oct. 6, 2009 at 2:00pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
