Obituary of Emily Charne
Emily Charne (nee Oleksuk)
Peacefully on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Emily passed away at the age of 83 with Peter and family at her side.
Emily will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter, to whom she was married for 62 years. She also leaves to mourn sisters Mary (Don), Helen, Anne (Joe), Agnes and Victoria as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews whom she loved very dearly. She was pre-deceased by her parents, sisters Bernice and Josephine and brother Edward.
Emily was born in Fannystelle, MB on July 29, 1927 and upon completion of her education, she lived in Winnipeg and Toronto, On. Emily worked at various jobs including Safeway. She enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, visiting relatives and friends as well as doing cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and gardening. She also enjoyed trips across Canada, Hawaii, Florida, California and, after Peter's retirement, spending many winters in Texas.
The family wishes to sincerely thank all nurses and staff on N1 and B2 at Middlechurch Home, including Dr. Saunders, for the outstanding and compassionate care provided to Emily.
A Service of Remembrance will be held Tuesday, April 5, 20ll at 2:00 pm at Cropo Funeral Home with Lee Barringer officiating. Ash Interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Emily's memory can be made to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice.
