Obituary of Emily Chernecki

EMILY CHERNECKI It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Emily Chernecki, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother on January 4, 2011 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 88 years. She is survived by her loving husband Peter after 70 years of marriage; along with her son Wayne(Marilyn), daughter in law Stella, grandchildren and great grandchildren, Chris and Alana Chernecki (Anna),Grant and Heidi Chernecki (Hayden and Hailey), Kerrie and Dorian Anneck(Tyler), Trevor and Kathy Chernecki (Zennon),Tracy and Brennan Stadnyk(Ava). She was predeceased by her son Norman Chernecki and granddaughter Jamie Chernecki. Mom was born in Sarto, MB. and moved to Winnipeg after her marriage to Peter in 1940. They settled in the north end of Winnipeg living 56 years on Church Avenue. Mom devoted her whole life to her husband and family. Mom was an avid gardener, she liked to knit and had numerous hobbies that she excelled at. Mom's main enjoyment in life was her family. She provided unconditional love, support, and leadership to us all. Emily was a lady in the truest sense of the word. She looked forward to all the family gatherings and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to extent our gratitude to Dr. Caroline Kowal and the staff of the emergency ward at the Seven Oaks Hospital for all their care and compassion; as well as a special thank you to the Homecare Workers that helped mom over the past year. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 8, at 10:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB. Private Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Emily's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB. God looked around His garden And found an empty space; He then looked down upon this earth And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And lifted you to rest; God's garden must be beautiful, He only takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you might never Get well upon this earth again. He knew the road was getting rough And the hills were to hard to climb, So he closed your weary eyelids And whispered," Peace be thine". It broke our hearts to lose you, But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you The day God called you home. CROPO Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street 586-8044
