Obituary of Jose Correia
JOSE MARIA CORREIA
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Jos� Maria Correia on April 17, 2011 at the Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg, MB.
Jos� leaves behind in his memory sisters Luisa Medeiros (Jos� Manuel), Concei��o Raposo (Guilherme) and brothers Jo�o Fontes, Henrique Fontes, Manuel Domingos Correia, and Ant�nio Francisco Fontes. Jos� leaves behind nieces and nephews Henry (Tammy), Marlene (Adam), Evelyn, Richard (Melissa), Darcy (Sarah), Melissa, and Cristina as well as two great nephews Raymond and Adam. He also leaves behind aunts, uncles, cousins, and many good friends.
Jos� was predeceased by his parents Maria Margarida Amaral and Jos� de Fontes Correia as well as his brother Ant�nio Domingos Fontes.
Jos� was born and raised in S�o Miguel, A�ores, Portugal and immigrated to Canada on May 29, 1977.
Heartfelt thanks goes out to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassion and caring treatment of Jos� during his final days.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m. also at the Church. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to (CancerCare Manitoba or Canadian Cancer Society).
