Obituary of Allan Creran
Allan John Creran It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, grandfather and great grandfather on December 12, 2009.
Allan was born in Winnipeg on June 2, 1924. He served during the Second World War with the Royal Canadian Air Force stationed in Snag, Yukon. He married Grace Benn on November 12, 1948 and together they raised three sons. He was employed at Centra Gas as a Systems Survey Person for 25 years until his retirement.
Many happy years were spent swimming and fishing at their LacLu, Ontario cottage. He loved his cats and animals, visits from the kids and grandchildren; the odd drink of Teachers Scotch (neat) and bowling with his IOF friends. Dad was always there if you needed a hand, just call and he would be there.
He is survived by his children Barrie (Cathy), Don (Doris), Murray (Bev); grandchildren Ryan (Dana), Kyle (Pam), Leanne (Lee), Justin, Miranda, Chad, Dana (Mark); great grandchildren Ethan and Lara; brother Bernie (Lorraine) sister-in-law Mabel, numerous nieces and nephews, and caring friends and neighbours.
He was predeceased by his wife Grace, mother-in-law Ethel Benn; parents Charles and Lena; sisters, Sister Mary Adelaide, S.J., Cec Briske, Anna Lang, Margaret Novak, Florence Creran; brothers Frank, Joe, Jim, and Ted.
Mom and Dad are now finally together. Dad missed his dance partner immensely. Now they are dancing to "In the Mood", their special dance, in Heaven.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 18 at 12:00 p.m. Noon at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Charlotte Novak officiating. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and kindness to Dad.
