Obituary of Mary CYPURDA
MARY CYPURDA
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary at the St. Boniface Hospital on January 10, 2010 at the age of 93.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving daughter Pat Hanson (Brian); grandchildren, Glen Hanson (Leslie), Kristine Wood (Brian); great-grandchildren, Scott, Eva, Anders and Mats Hanson, Steven and Jillian Wood; as well as nieces, nephews and their families.
Mary was predeceased by her loving husband Peter (1998); parents Palahia and Elias Petraszko; sister, Anne Cypurda and brother-in-law Paul; sister Katherine Medwid and brother-in-law Michael; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Nick Narcsowich and Anne and Joe Miske.
Mary and Peter married in 1935 and they celebrated 63 years together. Mary, a loving and devoted wife and mother was a kind, gentle, sweet lady with a keen sense of humour who always had a smile on her face and a good wish for everyone.
Mom enjoyed her home, garden, knitting, cooking and baking. We never left her home empty handed.
Mom's greatest joy in life was her family and she enjoyed attending her great-grandchildren's activities and events and always looked forward to their visits.
We'll have many happy memories of having dinner with Grandma at her favourite restaurant Shanghai.
The family would like to thank Dr. T. Kroczak and Homecare for the many years of caring for Mom. Sincere thanks to the staff at Beacon Hill Lodge, especially the 9th floor, who treated Mom with dignity, respect and compassion; also staff on 5 E at the St. Boniface Hospital for keeping Mom comfortable in her last days.
In keeping with Mom's wishes a private service was held.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Mary's memory to The Arthritis Society, 105-386 Broadway, Wpg. MB R3C 9Z9 or to a charity of one's choice.
We'll cherish the wonderful years we shared. Love you forever.
REST IN PEACE
