Obituary of JEAN REPETA
JEAN REPETA
Peacefully, after a brief illness, Jean Repeta (nee Nawolsky) went into the arms of our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday January 13, 2012.
She was born June 19, 1927 in Stuartburn, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1983), her father William Nawolsky in 1968 and her mother Annie (nee Horbul) in 1991. She leaves behind to mourn her passing: daughter Sharon (Doug) Chaikoski, son David and son Dan (Gwen) Repeta. Also grandchildren Michael Chaikoski, Allison Chaikoski, Adam Lavoie, Jade Repeta and Ebony Repeta. Also brother Michael (Jenny) Nawolski and sister Mary-Anne Orlins in Florida. She will be deeply missed by many other relatives and friends.
Mom worked as a cashier at Canadian Tire in St. Vital, retiring in 1991 after 22 years of service. She was a faithful and devoted member of Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church. She was also a long-standing and honorary member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League and an active member of their Seniors' Club. She was fondly known as the "Apron Lady" participating in craft shows for over 15 years across the province.
Prayers will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion Street on Thursday January 19 at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, January 20 at 10:00 a.m. also at Sts. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church with Father John Mostivsky officiating. Interment to be held at All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers are: Ken Nawolsky, Bob Nawolsky, Adam Lavoie, Terry Hurrie, Karl Brosch and Gary Mendrun. Honorary pallbearers are: Michael Chaikoski, Allison Chaikoski, Jade Repeta and Ebony Repeta.
The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Boniface General Hospital, SE Ward and especially Father John for his visits and his spiritual guidance at mom's time of need.
