NELLIE DROZDA
(NEE PROKOP)
It is with much sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Mom, Baba and Great Baba on Saturday, August 13, 2011.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her daughters Mary (Abe) Hiebert, Katie (Tony) Chic; her grandchildren Shelley (Doug) Beasley, Randall (Jeannette) Chic, Melody Hiebert, Bradley (Kathy) Hiebert, Daniel Chic, Kurt (Kate) Hiebert, Cindy Chic; her great grandchildren Kayla, Cassandra, Kylie and Emily; many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband Marion Drozda; her parents Mary and Kindrat Prokop and all of her brothers and sisters; Peter Topolniski, Nick Prokop, Fred Prokop, Steve Prokop, Sophie Zelinski, Annie Grabinsky, Pearl Zubritzky and Katie Lachuta.
Nellie was born in Rembrandt, MB on July 10, 1924. She was the youngest of 9 children. She married Marion Drozda on October 24, 1939 and remained in Rembrandt where they farmed. She moved to Winnipeg in 1979 where she resided until her passing.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Domke and all the staff of the Misericordia Health Centre for the excellent care that they gave our Mom, Baba and Great Baba during her stay.
Prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster, Winnipeg. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Rembrandt, MB with Rev. Fr. Harry Chuckry officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
