Husband, Father, Gedo
March 24, 1931 - December 24, 2009
Peacefully on December 24, 2009, Peter passed away at the Concordia Hospital at the age of 78 years.
Peter will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Helen of 53 years; daughters Theresa Shyka (Ed), Elaine Scammell (Brian) and son Richard Dudych (Odette); grandchildren Adam, Rebecca, Dylan, Carley, Michelle, Danielle and Alysha. He will also be missed by sisters Anne Daciw (Fred), Mary Kiernicki, Steffie Babiuk (Michael); brothers Walter Dudych (Sylvia), Stan Dudych (Velva), Andy (Jeannette), Garry Dudych (Leona); sister-in-law Sophie Dudych and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents John and Nettie Dudych; brother Bill and Mike Dudych; brother-in-law Mike Kiernicki; mother and father-in-law Annie and Adam Drozda.
Peter grew up in Hazelridge, MB where he helped with the farm. In 1955 he moved to the city and was employed with Talman Gravel and later with CNR. Peter was employed with CNR for 35 years where he had many friends. Peter loved to go to Church, as he was very religious. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, along with his family in the country. Peter loved to play horseshoes and crib and truly enjoyed the time together with Walter and Mary.
Prayers will be said on Tuesday, December 29 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 30 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Avenue with. Rt. Rev. Canon Walter Klimchuk and Deacon Gordon Mendres. Interment to follow in Transcona Cemetery.
In. lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, Building Fund, 455 Douglas Avenue, Winnipeg MB R2G 0Y3 or to a charity of your choice.
