Obituary of Eugenie England
Eugenie "Jean" (Kissel) England February 06, 1913 to July 06, 2008
Jean England died on July 06, 2008 at Holy Family Nursing Home, Winnipeg. Much loved mother to Gordon (Penny Hildahl) of Prince George, BC, and Donald of Winnipeg; grandmother to Erin, (Prince George), Samantha, (Rochester, New York) and Angela and Pamela (Winnipeg).
Jean also leaves to mourn her passing sister Mary Anne Kissel of Vancouver, BC, and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon, daughter Mary Jean and brothers Joseph and Michael.
Jean will be remembered for her love of family and church, her beautiful flowers and passion for gardening, her love of singing and her very refined sense of humour. She was a staunch believer in the importance of continued learning and education and enjoyed her many years as a librarian at St. Paul's College at U of M.
The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Nursing Home for their wonderful and compassionate care; her friends and extended family whose visits brightened each of her days. In particular we would like to thank Olga Palmer, her long time friend, and Katherine and Dennis Dane and their children for their continued love and support.
Prayers will be Wednesday, July 09 at 7:00p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Brebeuf R.C. Parish, 1707 John Brebeuf, Winnipeg. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Much as she loved flowers, Jean requested that in lieu of bouquets, donations be made to the St. Paul's College Foundation general scholarship fund at 213-70-Dysart Road, Wpg. R3T 2M6, or an organization of your choice that supports people in their pursuit of post-secondary education. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com
