Obituary of Artur FARIA
ARTUR BRUM FARIA
With sad hearts and wonderful memories Artur passed away peacefully at Riverview Health Centre on February 28, 2011 at the age of 66 with his loving family by his side.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Berta of 39 years as well as their three Children Paulo (Rosa), Aida (Michael), Nelson (Sylvia) and his two grandchildren Brianna and Lucas. He will also be missed by his brothers Humberto (Alice) and Jose (Conceicao) and his sister Fernanda. He will also leave to mourn his brother in law Renato (Fatima) as well as many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, USA and Sao Miguel.
He was predeceased by his parents Manuel do Rego Faria and Hirminia Tavares Brum, along with his beloved brother Eduardo Faria and brother in law Fernando Cabral and sister in law Judite Pacheco.
Artur was born in 1944 in Sao Miguel Azores and immigrated to Canada in 1973 and started his life with his wife and eldest Son. He worked as a dietary aide at the Health Sciences Centre for 23 Years and cherishes the friendships that he made while working there. He was a strong, hard working man who lived everyday for his family. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and would go out of his way to make sure his loved ones were taken care of.
Prayers will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 6:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church; 181 Austin Street N. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
The family would like to Thank the Palliative Care Staff at the Riverview Health Centre for their care and attention. The family also wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to their family and friends for their constant support throughout these difficult times.
